A Few of The Hot Trends in Health and Wellness for 2020

 

It is that time of year again when we look at Nutrition, Fitness, and Wellness trends for the New Year and Decade. There are many discoveries on the horizon, and you can bet we will hear plenty. Today, I share a few that I will “geek” out on this year and believe are essential to living a vibrant, happy, healthy body, mind, and spirit.

Healthspan and Mitochondria

We live at a time where we are living longer. Today there is a growing arena in the area of aging science and research. While living longer may sound great, let’s face reality, it is worth it to live in a body where you feel great, strong, and vibrant. The scientists and researchers are discovering at lightning speed the daily habits, nutrition strategies, and supplementation (a large piece) that can slow or reverse the aging process.

Mitochondria are these sexy intracellular powerhouses that impact how we function and feel daily. One of the critical factors to keeping these powerhouse cells healthy is through a process called Autophagy. People realize they need to be intentional and are choosing to unplug from the digital world, and enjoy serious downtime.

Gut Health has been a hot topic for years and will continue to be at the forefront with the escalation of autoimmune diseases. We now know more about the correlation and causation that agricultural methods, depletion of soil nutrients, and toxins have on gut health, inflammation, and diseases. Due to my autoimmune disease, and the escalation of these, you will hear more about best protocols and steps to heal, and impact a healthy gut, gut microbiome, and our relation to Mother Earth.

Clean and Sustainable Skincare and Beauty

The Clean beauty movement is exponentially growing. People are waking up to the dangers of toxic ingredients, and are searching for healthier and effective products and brands.  There are thousands of known ingredients that are carcinogens and hormone disruptors currently not banned by the FDA. Health-conscious consumers will be demanding change.

The CBD market will continue to explode. No wonder based on the hard-charging, high-stress lifestyle many are living.
