The Value of Bio-individuality and Personalized Nutrition
“Our Food Should Be Our Medicine & Our Medicine Should Be Our Food”
The value of seeking answers to fitness and wellness is life long passion of mine. Due to that passion, my practice centers around “bio-individual” nutrition and lifestyle. There is no one size fits all diet that works for everyone. Numerous factors determine an optimal diet for an individual: age, activity level, genetics, the climate of where you live, and your current health status. The human body and its systems are complex, so what works well will be unique to the individual.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner - NTP, I work with my clients in supporting them to get to the root cause of potential nutritional imbalances that may contribute to their health concerns and symptoms.
What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?
Nutritional Therapy Practitioners: NTPs are certified through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA). NTP’s do not treat or diagnose any conditions. NTPs take a foundational, holistic approach to wellness that focuses on the importance of a properly prepared, nutrient-dense, whole food diet paired with a well-balanced lifestyle. When you give your body the nutrients, it requires you support your body’s natural pathway to vitality.
We understand the importance of honoring your body’s specific feedback system and its incredible capacity to restore, regenerate, and correct itself when given the nutrients, tools, and opportunity to do so.
NTPs look for the imbalances that contribute to health dysfunction rather than addressing symptoms. Most women come to me for fat loss after being frustrated that “nothing is working.” We look at a complete picture of overall health—lifestyle, digestion, daily nutrition, etc. to support the FOUNDATIONS of overall optimal wellness rather than one issue of concern or discomfort. Understanding WHY is the first step for the long-term benefit. There is a bonus; many times, in addition to experiencing relief for specific concerns, clients receive improvements in other areas they didn’t know were there in the first place. All the body’s systems are intricately connected; many find their mood improves, they lose fat, have clearer skin, and increase energy levels.
How lucky am I to work with women to improve their nutrition and lifestyle habits when they didn’t know where to begin or feel they were capable of change. They fall in love with the process of getting back the health and vitality they desire and preventing health problems as they age, all by addressing the simple foundations for lifelong better health and wellness.
In short, as an NTP, I work with my clients directly to:
Get their blood sugar under control. High blood sugar is a major cause of metabolic dysfunction, excess weight, inflammation, inability to lose fat, and mood swings.
Identify and resolve digestive issues (Stomach, GI tract, liver & gallbladder, small & large intestine) through specific assessments and a little detective work. We begin the steps to better digestion.
Ensure proper hydration and electrolyte balance. Fact: A healthy heart and bones require adequate hydration.
Know the critical importance of Fatty acids and protein. While there is no one plan for everyone, most don’t realize the value of these essential nutrients for optimal health and well-being.
Focus on daily movement & exercise. I meet my clients where they are. However, strength training is the most beneficial for metabolic health, weight loss, and longevity. I help my clients find a way to adopt resistance training into their life.
I will also create recipes, meal plans, help my clients remove toxic products from their homes, reduce stress, and improve sleep.
Each person is unique, and therefore I focus on each client’s bio-individuality.
We work together through specific assessments to precisely determine what your body needs, reduce inflammation, and restore your body to optimal health and wellness.
I’m humbly grateful to help women get back to the health and vitality they desire.
PS - Yes - I work with men too.
